Robert Gilhooly is an award-winning British photographer and writer who is currently based in Japan. His work has appeared in publications around the globe, including Newsweek, Time, the New York Times, International Herald Tribune, The Times, the Guardian, New Scientist and the Australian. He was formerly a staff reporter at the Japan Times. In 2004, he obtained an MA in journalism, during which he focused his studies on photojournalism. He has also contributed to numerous TV documentaries and books.

Robert is fluent in Japanese and warmly welcomes assignments and is willing to travel anywhere within or outside of Japan.

Robert also has extensive experience in event photography, from global sporting events such as the FIFA Club World Cup soccer and global symposiums and events.
